When trying to subscribe to an rss feed the url’s have ‘feed:’ on the front of them, which both Firefox and Thunderbird reject! Remove the ‘feed:’ (to be left with an http url) and all is fine and Thunderbird will once more subscribe to the feeds. Now I’ve figured that out, maybe I can restart [...]

The pledge attracted the 1,000 signatures! That’s great news but does mean that shortly it’ll be time to start paying!
I met Suw Charman at Ben’s last weekend and the ORG managed to get a mention in the papers at the weekend, so things are looking good.

On sunday I went down to Dhaka, Bangladesh for the first time. It was interesting to make your way down across areas that I’ve not seen before, but two sights really stood out for me on the journey there.
The first was crossing the border between Pakistan and India. We crossed it when it was still [...]

Recently I ahd the opportunity to meet Tom Steinberg at an evening meeting in London. The project he was most excited about was the Pledge Bank. I’d visited the site shortly before meeting him as Danny O’Brien had posted a pledge around an organisation to campaign for digital rights (a subject that is truly on [...]

One of teh things that I do from time to time is copy a CD. Finding a need to do this I found it wasn’t as straightforward as I hoped it might be under gnome. After a web search I found X-CD-Roast. Installed it via the ports and then ran it. All worked well and [...]

I installed Mozilla sunbird a while back and was impressed with how usable it was for a 0.2 release. It supports online shared calendars so I’m going to try and create one so that friends and family can keep track of my movements. The first steps have been completed and now teaching my parents how [...]
