BT really are useless

So rang this morning to try and get a MAC code so I can move my connection. First off the only numbers I can find are for business use, not residential. I decide to try one and get prompted “if you’re a residential customer”! Guess other people have the same problem. The phone then rings for a while and then cuts off.

The menu services that all big companies now seem to employ are maddening and like most people I think they reduce the quality of service dramatically. I’ve almost gotten to the point of transferring my business away (as I have started doing for businesses that move call centres offshore), but it’s certainly getting close :-(

When I did eventually speak to a human being (horray) he told me I had the wrong number and needed another number! He then told me he only knew this as he had handled the same enquiry 2 weeks ago and had done the legwork to find out. The move can’t happen soon enough.

I recently moved house and found the previous owner had a BT business line installed. I natrually tried to transfer this to my name on a residential account. Sounds simple, but not for BT, weeks later the line is still using the old business number and ive benn put through to every BT phone department going! why is this so difficult for them?

Might have to start using NTL :(

Their broadband service is rubbish! they just sent us out a new router which they didnt even bother to configure the router and when it came to connecting to the wireless I was told they don’t support it – even though the wireless key on the new router was different to the old one and I would have to go round re-configuring all the computers in the office.

No-one should use BT – EVER!

It’s amazing how things turn full circle, but after all these years we’ve just switched back to BT from Tiscali. The change was effortless and the new BT Home Hub works incredibly well straight from the box! Surprised? I was! The service has been more stable than Tiscali and also a lot faster.
